Linda Washington on Writing About Healing and Self-Love

Love is one of the most beautiful experiences in a person’s life, but it is not always easy to find. For Linda Washington, finding love was further complicated by cancer. After experiencing a lot of negativity, Linda turned to music to help her heal. As an up-and-coming R&B artist, her songs of heartbreak and healing help audiences take the next step in their journey to self-love.

Linda Washington is a singer, songwriter, best-selling author, and cancer survivor. As she battled this cruel illness, she found comfort in music. She was writing songs that helped her process her experiences and emotions and helped her feel more at peace. “When you’re going through something so difficult, it is important you find something that brings you joy. And in my case, it was music. So I made it a part of my healing journey. My songs helped me fight back,” the artist said.

Her latest single, “Missing You,” is a bittersweet song about love. The song details an emotional journey about losing oneself and finding love again despite all odds. Linda Washington lends her strong vocals to the single, with Superstar Lamar supporting her with his smooth voice. The track features a soulful R&B vibe, its message touching the hearts of audiences and reassuring them that they will find love again.

The subject of love plays a significant role in Linda’s healing journey. With cancer changing her body, her confidence and self-esteem took a hit. And even after she had won against the disease, it continued to affect her life as she started dating again. “It was rough. I had to relearn how to love myself, and I had to be more consistent about self-love,” Linda Washington shared, “There have been so many men who have belittled me, or told me I’m not a real woman anymore. It hurt, but I knew these men were not worth my time. I had to be stronger and not let them taint my healing.”

This R&B artist also details her experience with cancer in her book Forbidden And Broken Finding Love Behind The Scars. The book recounts her emotional battle with breast cancer and some of the experiences she had as a survivor. Linda Washington said, “A lot of the time, we begin to define ourselves by our diagnosis. It can be hard to change our perspectives, especially when we have lived with that label for so long. But I wanted to encourage my readers to think of themselves as a person, not their disease.” Linda wanted to give her readers hope and remind them that there is more to life than their hardships.

Love and healing are challenging enough without adding cancer to the mix. But Linda Washington is a strong woman who knows that love can bring the biggest healing in one’s life. As a singer and songwriter, she makes music for women who feel lost and unloved. She has been in their shoes, and her songs remind them that they are not alone and there are better things ahead. Linda’s book serves as another beacon of hope, showing that women can find immense strength even in the face of adversity. “Love and healing will come to your lives,” Linda said. “Don’t give up on them. And don’t give up on yourself.”

Modern-Day Storyteller Marc Angelo Coppola on Combining His Life’s Greatest Passions to Impact Communities

Not everyone with a variety of passions in life has been fortunate enough to combine them to develop a path that celebrates them all and impacts communities at the same time. Most people would just go for one and compromise the others along the way. But not Marc Angelo Coppola, who has successfully fused his greatest passions in life: farming, philanthropy, and storytelling. How he managed to do it is a story worth telling and learning from.

Marc is the visionary behind Valhalla Farms, which exists to transform more than 80 acres of promising farmland through the immense powers of regenerating agriculture and storytelling. It is designed to be the farm of the future, a thriving all-natural ecosystem that will gather the most dedicated agricultural producers and entrepreneurs across the country. Valhalla Farms developed a cooperative made up of motivated entrepreneurs, farmers, experts, and chefs. Some of its members are taking care of the operational, financial, and legal aspects of growing the farm. The cooperative is mainly divided into three major groups: the workers, producers, and supporters.

Apart from building a solid community, Valhalla Farms also exists to accomplish major objectives that will impact future generations, which include soil regeneration and carbon sequestration, biodiversity in plants and people; develop research, education, and incubation centers; and become a bridge between urban and rural living.

“One on the farm where I take my ideas and stories and turn them into real-world produce and food and one in the city where I share my passion for storytelling, brand building, and finance in the digital realm as well,” Marc explained. “The two link together via story and help build a true community as a modern-day farmer and entrepreneur doesn’t need to exclusively be on either side of this divide but can also plant their feet right in the middle.”

Marc is also the owner of Superhero Academy, which has diversified into his famous Superhero Academy podcast that has been steadily growing its following the past few years. This is an effective avenue for Marc to mentor aspiring entrepreneurs, creatives, and influencers to unravel or polish their special talents. The academy allows people to become part of a thriving and healthy tribe of people who take adventures and personal growth initiatives together. This is also where he introduces the value of accountability, how to achieve freedom, and build experience.

“My first business was in 2007, an Indoor Skatepark on the south shore of Montreal. I learned all the street smarts that I needed but never could’ve learned in school, and had a successful exit after three years,” Marc shared. “What didn’t work was that it’s a very capital intensive, time-intensive business since indoor space costs a lot per square foot. Lesson learned! And it still worked and is still operating today.”

As a storyteller and online personality, Marc enjoys being in front of a microphone and camera, second to working hard with a shovel and a wheelbarrow. While he is a farmer and philanthropist by heart, he understands the necessity of using modern-day tools and technology to create awareness for his advocacies. Indeed, Marc is an effective bridge that connects the simple with the complex, urban living with rural living, and the fast-paced life of entrepreneurs and the laid-back way of life on the farm.

Off the Rails Restaurant by Chef Andrew Molen Elevates the Dining Experience at Ludlow, Vermont

Ludlow, Vermont has always been known as a must-visit whenever travelers are on the East Coast. From a winter wonderland, the town has transformed to an all-year destination, and tourists looking for the perfect place for delicious food, good vibes, and great music flock to the little town whenever they get the chance to do so. Ludlow is also now home to Off the Rails Restaurant, a new bar-restaurant that serves the tastiest pizzas, all-American burgers, and an exciting selection of beers.

Apart from the delicious food, which includes the American all-time favorite buffalo wings, the beer is overflowing and always cold. The restaurant serves eight draft beers on tap and cans. Co-owners Andrew Molen and Troy Curaso wanted to make sure that their guests and customers have a delightful experience every time they visit Off the Rails Restaurant. To guarantee that their customers always have a fresh beer, Molen and Curaso partnered with a local brewery called Mount Holly.

“We felt that Ludlow was missing a late local hangout. And we thought that by opening this, we would allow the locals and visitors to have a place to come and have fun. We want them to enjoy some good food and a welcoming atmosphere,” Molen shared.

Apart from the great food and its relaxing atmosphere, Off the Rails Restaurant is also fast becoming a haven for good music that promotes relaxation and more fun. After all, great music always goes with good food. This kind of setting is exactly what Molen and Curaso envisioned when they put their heads together to create something worthwhile for Ludlow, a place that will not only meet the entertainment needs of the locals but also attract tourists at the same time.

“Our vision behind this venture is to bring some good and fun food so locals can listen to live music. We want them to enjoy good music and relax after a long ski day,” said the brilliant chef.

Andrew Molen and Troy Curaso are very excited about this bar and restaurant in Ludlow. Andrew has an extensive resume and has worked for some of the high-quality restaurants in New York, including Insieme (Michelangelo Hotel), Chez Josephine, Southgate Restaurant (Jumeirah Essex House), The Plaza Food Hall (The Plaza Hotel), Sunset Beach (AB Hotels), Restaurant Gordon Ramsay (The London Hotel) Topping Rose House (Jean Georges), and Todd English Enterprises. Now, he has brought his experience and expertise to Ludlow and married service, atmosphere, and food to provide an unforgettable dining experience for local, business, and international customers.

Ludlow may only have a population of 2,172 according to the 2021 census, but it is a destination worth the trip for anyone who loves to combine skiing with good food, great music, and cold beers. Thanks to dedicated local entrepreneurs like Molen and Curaso, the home of Okemo Mountain continues to thrive.
