The city of Oakland has formally recognized Motherland Nepal as the leader of Nepalese social organization for uplifting the Nepalese community amidst a special function in the city hall on Tuesday.

City Councilor Janani Ramachandran awarded Motherland Nepal with a certificate of Resolution in which Motherland Nepal has been recognized as the main Asian organization to celebrate Diwali, the main festival of the South Asian community.

Speaking on occasion, the city councilor Janani Ramchandran introduced Motherland and its founder chairman, Anil Pandey, for his continuous and arduous contribution to uplifting the Nepalese immigrant community. She hailed the significant amount of social work by Motherland Nepal.

Anil Pandey, the founder chairman of Motherland Nepal, thanked the City of Oakland for the recognition of the organization and vowed to work together with the city for the betterment of the community.
