Kathy Ireland Hopes to Bring Holiday Cheer to American Homes with The Waltons’ Homecoming

The holiday season is a perfect time to spend with loved ones and reflect on the year that has passed. However, with everything that is going on in the world, many people are losing hope. So to help raise everyone’s spirits, Kathy Ireland presents the television film The Waltons’ Homecoming.

The remarkable woman is the CEO and Chief Designer of the marketing giant Kathy Ireland® Worldwide. Under the leadership of the brilliant individual, the firm has received numerous accolades, including The 15th Most Successful Licensed Brand in American history.

On top of that, Kathy Ireland has been given several awards this year, such as the Icon Award from International Home Furnishings Association and the Business International Religious Freedom Champion Award from the IRF.

As such, the entrepreneur is very heartfelt about the need to share her blessings with the rest of the country. So, the former supermodel tapped into her network from the entertainment industry and decided to create a project that the whole family would love. Thus The Waltons’ Homecoming was born.

The television movie is a reboot of the 1971 holiday classic The Homecoming: A Christmas Story, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. It premiered on November 28 on The CW. At the same time, an encore is slated for December 11.

Talented actors star on the show, including Bellamy Young, Ben Lawson, and Logan Shroyer. Richard Thomas, who played John Boy in the original, is also part of the film as the narrator.

Grammy Award-winning musicians Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr. also joined the cast as Sister Harriett and Brother William. The pair sang an incredibly remarkable rendition of “Silent Night,” bringing extraordinary music to the film.

Kathy Ireland proudly talked about what motivated her to pursue the inspiring project. She shared, “There is so much programming in the world today that fails to encourage hope. After a challenging year, The Waltons’ Homecoming is our gift to America.”

She added, “There is no one more talented or appropriate to bring this message into our homes on Thanksgiving weekend than Sam Haskell, whose accomplishments in television are legendary and iconic. To know Sam is to trust him and love him. So when we began dreaming of what gift we could give to virtually every American family this year, this film became our powerful choice.”
