Dr. Faustino da Rosa Junior, a prominent figure in the intersection of technology and education, has made a significant mark as an entrepreneur. With a robust background in law, particularly in Digital Law, Business Tax Law, and Constitutional Law, Dr. Faustino has seamlessly transitioned into the technology sector. As the CEO and founder of FGMED, Brazil’s largest EdTech platform for continuing medical education, and the founder of FG Investments, he is at the forefront of a digital revolution in education across Latin America.

During a recent interview at the BEYOND Expo 2024 in China, Dr. Faustino shared his journey from law to becoming a tech entrepreneur. “My legal career provided me with a deep understanding of regulatory and compliance issues, but I was always drawn to innovation,” he reflects. This drive led to the establishment of FGMED, which has transformed access to medical education in Brazil. “We created FGMED to address a critical need for continuous medical education in a rapidly changing healthcare landscape. Our goal is to empower medical professionals with the knowledge and skills they need to stay ahead,” he explains.

Dr. Faustino’s vision extends beyond traditional education models. At the BEYOND Expo, he spoke about the burgeoning opportunities in Latin America’s technology sector, emphasizing the region’s potential as a new hub for innovation. “Latin America, and Brazil in particular, are on the cusp of a technological renaissance. The interest from Asian corporations, as seen at this Expo, highlights the region’s growing importance in the global market,” he says. According to Dr. Faustino, Brazil’s economy, now the eighth largest in the world, is poised for significant growth, especially with increased international trade and investment.

The BEYOND Expo also provided a platform for Dr. Faustino to network with global leaders and innovators. “It was an inspiring experience to engage with some of the brightest minds in the industry. These interactions are invaluable for understanding global trends and identifying new opportunities for collaboration,” he remarks. Dr. Faustino is particularly focused on leveraging these connections to address some of the challenges facing Latin America’s tech industry, such as high taxation and underdeveloped infrastructure. “There is a need for more supportive policies and investments to make the region a competitive player in the global tech arena,” he adds.

In his presentation at the Expo, Dr. Faustino highlighted two key areas with notable growth potential: online services and online education. He noted the increasing demand for online education, especially in specialized fields like medical and corporate training. Dr. Faustino suggested that these sectors are likely to continue expanding as digitalization influences more aspects of everyday life, presenting opportunities for investors and entrepreneurs.

Drawing from his extensive experience, Dr. Faustino offers insights for budding tech entrepreneurs. “One of the biggest pitfalls is expanding too quickly without a strong foundation. It’s crucial to prioritize strategic planning, especially in tax and regulatory matters. Moreover, exploring markets in Asia can provide valuable lessons and opportunities,” he advises. He also stresses the importance of international events like the BEYOND Expo. “These events are critical for building a global network and staying abreast of the latest innovations and market dynamics,” he notes.

Dr. Faustino da Rosa Junior’s story is one of foresight and adaptability. His ventures in educational technology and his role as an investor are not just reshaping education in Brazil but also setting new standards for innovation and entrepreneurship in the region. As he continues to lead the charge in these dynamic fields, Dr. Faustino remains committed to using technology to solve real-world problems. “Innovation is about creating value and making a positive impact. That’s what drives me every day,” he concludes.
