Morena Simpson, the author known by her pen name Charlee Bravo, has spoken out about her commitment to advocating for the LGBTQ+ community under the current administration. A proud bisexual woman and bold storyteller, Morena has made it clear that she will continue to champion inclusivity and authenticity, regardless of political changes.

“No matter what legislation or ideologies the current administration advocates, I will never shy away from being the voice for the voiceless,” she stated. Her words underline a determination to ensure that those who feel marginalized have representation, particularly in a time when many in the LGBTQ+ community are uncertain about what the future holds.

Morena’s personal journey informs both her work and advocacy. Following her divorce from her first husband, she chose to be fully transparent about her identity when she met her current husband. “When I met him, I told him I am bisexual,” she shared. “It was important for me to be honest about who I am from the beginning.”

She also recalled coming out to her daughter, who responded with support and understanding. “She told me, ‘As long as you are respectful, I am happy for you.’ That meant so much to me. It reminded me how valuable acceptance is, and it’s something I want to pass on to others.”

Through her writing, Morena brings that message of acceptance to life. Under the name Charlee Bravo, she explores themes that many avoid, tackling issues around love, identity, and societal norms. Her books provide a space for readers to feel seen and understood, especially those who belong to communities that often go overlooked.

Her latest release, Tangled in the Web: Checkmate, continues that mission. The series is filled with complex characters and unexpected plotlines, with the newest book offering a shocking twist involving the main characters, Sweeha and Shae. Morena hopes her stories not only entertain but also spark meaningful conversations about relationships, identity, and the human experience.

“I want my work to resonate with people, especially those who feel like they don’t always see themselves in books or media,” she explained. “Representation matters. It helps people feel less alone.”

Morena’s dedication to advocacy extends beyond her fiction. As someone who has personally navigated the challenges of being open about her identity, she wants others to feel empowered to live authentically. “We should never have to apologize for who we are,” she said. “Being true to yourself is one of the most powerful things you can do.”

Her commitment to inclusivity is especially relevant today, as political and cultural debates over LGBTQ+ rights continue to make headlines. Morena is determined to use her platform to amplify voices that might otherwise be overlooked and to remind others that authenticity is a strength, not a weakness.

In addition to writing, she actively engages with her readers and community, using social media and public events to foster discussions about identity and representation. She believes that stories, whether in books, films, or other media, have a profound influence on society’s perceptions.

“Telling stories that normalize LGBTQ+ characters and relationships is a way to fight ignorance,” she said. “People fear what they don’t understand. But when they see diverse identities portrayed in meaningful ways, it helps break down those barriers.”

For Morena, Tangled in the Web is more than just a book series—it is a way to engage readers while challenging them to think critically about issues of acceptance and identity. She wants her books to be both a mirror and a window, reflecting the experiences of those in the LGBTQ+ community while offering others a glimpse into different perspectives.

As a writer, she also aims to push the boundaries of contemporary literature. She is unafraid to address complex, sometimes controversial topics, believing that literature should provoke thought and encourage discussions. “Books have always been a space for challenging norms,” she said. “I want to use my voice to inspire and empower.”

Morena has already begun working on her next novel, continuing to build narratives that reflect diverse identities and lived experiences. She hopes her stories will inspire others to embrace their own truths and to see the beauty in their individuality.

“I’ve always believed that stories have the power to bring people together,” she said. “Whether it’s through the characters in my books or the themes I explore, I want my readers to know that they’re not alone.”

As Morena continues to write and advocate, her work remains a reminder of the importance of representation and the value of living with authenticity. Her voice, both on and off the page, resonates with a message of understanding, inclusion, and hope for the future.
