Artists spend their entire careers trying to discover who they are. Ananda Xenia Shakti has spent hers discovering how many different versions of herself she could become without ever losing sight of the person she was all along.

Long before she was creating meditative soundscapes with Love Power the Band, she was known as Xenia Holliday, a member of the pioneering all-female punk outfit The B-Girls. In the late 1970s, when punk was less a musical genre than a declaration of independence, the band carved out its own place in a movement that prized authenticity over perfection. Along the way, Ananda shared stages with The Clash, performed at iconic venues such as CBGB, and contributed background vocals to Blondie’s AutoAmerican album.

Yet, as remarkable as those accomplishments were, they became only the opening chapter of an even more extraordinary story.

Over the decades, Ananda gradually moved away from the urgency and rebellion of punk and toward a life centered on yoga, meditation, spiritual practice, and music as a form of devotion. It’s an evolution that seems dramatic on paper, but listening to her work reveals an entirely different truth. The spirit that once drove her to challenge convention through punk music is the same spirit that now drives her to search for deeper meaning through song.

That search has brought her considerable recognition. Her recordings have topped the UK iTunes charts, while her music videos have earned awards at international film festivals. Yet accolades seem almost secondary to the mission that defines her work today. Rather than treating music as entertainment alone, Ananda approaches it as an opportunity for healing, reflection, and connection.

Her latest single, Devotion, may be the clearest expression of that philosophy to date.

The story behind the song feels almost too symbolic to be true. While attending a silent meditation retreat in the mountains of Andhra Pradesh, India, Ananda found herself awake in the middle of the night, struggling through a bout of physical illness. Unable to meditate in the traditional sense, she began softly chanting the names of Radha and Krishna. Gradually, a melody emerged. What began as discomfort transformed into inspiration.

That experience became the foundation for Devotion, and listeners can hear its sincerity in every note.

The song unfolds with remarkable patience. Rather than rushing toward a dramatic chorus, the arrangement allows the music to breathe. Ambient textures drift gently around mantra-inspired melodies, while subtle rhythmic elements create a sense of movement without ever disturbing the song’s underlying tranquility.

It’s a difficult balance to achieve. Music rooted in spirituality often risks becoming either overly sentimental or so ethereal that it loses its emotional center. Devotion avoids both extremes. The production remains grounded and intimate, creating an atmosphere that feels welcoming rather than inaccessible.

Ananda’s vocal performance is equally effective. She sings with warmth and quiet assurance, resisting the temptation to overstate the emotion that runs through the song. There is no theatrical flourish here, no attempt to impress listeners with technical virtuosity. Instead, she offers something much more compelling: honesty.

That honesty extends to the song’s central theme. Devotion is ultimately about discovering expansion within contraction, light within darkness, and peace within uncertainty. It is about recognizing that growth often arrives in unexpected forms and that transformation rarely happens according to plan.

The accompanying video reinforces those ideas through imagery inspired by nature, contemplation, and sacred symbolism. Rather than competing with the music, the visuals deepen the experience, creating a space where listeners can pause and reflect.

What makes Devotion especially powerful is the way it reflects the arc of Ananda’s life itself. Her journey from punk clubs to meditation retreats might seem improbable, but perhaps it makes perfect sense. Punk has always been about rejecting falsehood and insisting upon authenticity. Spiritual practice asks much the same thing.

The difference is that where punk once demanded that the world change, Devotion asks listeners to begin with themselves.

Artificial intelligence has become one of the defining economic stories of the decade.

“Everyone is asking how many jobs AI will eliminate,” Adams says. “Very few people are asking how many new jobs AI is creating.”

The answer, he believes, is far larger than most people realize.

Artificial intelligence may exist in software, but it operates on physical infrastructure. Every ChatGPT prompt, cloud application, AI model, streaming service, financial transaction, and enterprise workload ultimately runs through data centers built and operated by thousands of skilled professionals.

As companies including Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Meta, Oracle, NVIDIA, OpenAI, and xAI continue investing billions of dollars into expanding their infrastructure, demand for the people responsible for building and maintaining those facilities has accelerated alongside it.

Electricians.

Mechanical technicians.

Controls specialists.

Commissioning engineers.

Operations managers.

Network professionals.

Construction managers.

Mission-critical facility operators.

These are the careers Adams believes should be receiving far more attention in discussions about the future of work.

“The AI economy doesn’t just need software engineers,” he says. “It needs the people who make sure the infrastructure behind AI never goes offline.”

That reality has become increasingly apparent across the global data center industry.

While public attention often focuses on advances in artificial intelligence software, developers are simultaneously racing to construct hyperscale campuses capable of supporting unprecedented computing demand. Every new facility requires years of planning, enormous amounts of capital, highly specialized engineering, and perhaps most importantly, a workforce capable of operating critical infrastructure around the clock.

Industry forecasts suggest hundreds of thousands of data center positions could remain unfilled in the United States over the coming years, while global demand continues climbing as AI investment accelerates. For Adams, those projections represent one of the greatest labor opportunities of the next decade rather than simply another hiring challenge.

That realization ultimately led him to establish Data Center Youngbloods, a company focused on expanding awareness of careers in digital infrastructure while connecting employers with the next generation of skilled professionals. Rather than approaching workforce development solely through recruiting, Adams built the company around professional community, education, and long-term industry partnerships.

Before officially launching its workforce programs, Data Center Youngbloods had already attracted more than 400 members and generated over 100,000 organic LinkedIn impressions. The company later announced its launch through a media campaign that reached hundreds of publications, reflecting growing interest in one of technology’s fastest-growing sectors.

For Adams, however, the larger mission extends well beyond growing a single company.

He believes the industry has a branding problem.

“When students hear ‘technology,’ they think software,” Adams says. “Very few think about the physical infrastructure that powers every digital experience they use every day.”

That misconception has consequences.

Many talented young professionals overlook careers offering long-term stability because they simply have never been introduced to the industry. Veterans leaving military service often possess operational skills that translate naturally into mission-critical facilities but rarely receive exposure to the sector. Skilled tradespeople searching for future-proof careers may not realize they already possess capabilities highly valued inside modern data centers.

As AI adoption continues accelerating, Adams expects those opportunities to become even more significant.

Unlike many roles affected by automation, data center operations require professionals who can physically inspect equipment, maintain electrical systems, oversee advanced cooling technologies, coordinate infrastructure projects, and respond to mission-critical events where reliability is measured in seconds rather than days.

Artificial intelligence may automate many workflows.

It cannot replace the people responsible for keeping the infrastructure behind artificial intelligence operational.

That distinction, Adams argues, represents one of the most overlooked economic stories unfolding today.

“The conversation shouldn’t just be about which jobs disappear,” he says. “It should also be about where the new careers are being created.”

For governments investing in digital infrastructure, employers competing for talent, universities designing technical programs, and students planning their futures, that shift carries significant implications.

The next generation of opportunity may not be found solely inside software companies.

It may be found inside the facilities quietly powering every major breakthrough in artificial intelligence.

As investment in AI continues reshaping the global economy, Adams believes history will remember this period differently than many expect.

“The AI revolution won’t just create smarter technology,” he says. “It’s going to create an entirely new generation of careers. The sooner people recognize that, the better prepared they’ll be for what’s coming next.”

While much of the world continues debating whether artificial intelligence will eliminate jobs, Adams believes a different story is already unfolding.
