In the latest release of the 2024 Henley Passport Index rankings, six countries share the top spot for the world’s most powerful passports. Finland, South Korea, and Sweden secure the second position with access to 193 countries, closely followed by Austria, Denmark, Ireland, and the Netherlands in the third spot with access to 192 countries.

The United States holds the seventh position, providing visa-free access to 188 destinations for its passport holders. Despite fluctuations in the rankings over recent years, the US remains a strong contender, with a record issuance of 24 million passports between October 2022 and September 2023. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has made significant strides, climbing from 55th to 11th in the rankings, adding 106 visa-free destinations since 2014.
