As if the week couldn’t get any better for Jennifer Hudson, she’s about to add another title to her resume: talk show host.

Hudson’s next show, “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” has been cleared in more than 95 percent of the country and will now be shown nationally in the autumn. The series will premiere on Fox TV stations, which will serve as the series’ core station group, on September 12th.

Hudson’s show is produced by Warner Bros., which also produced “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” which recently ended its 19-year run. Many of DeGeneres’ top producers will be joining Hudson’s show. Her show will be taped in the same Warner Bros. lot studio where “Ellen” was filmed.

The showrunners for “The Jennifer Hudson Show” will be Mary Connelly, Andy Lassner, and Corey Palent, all of whom have worked on “Ellen” since its inception in 2003 as executive producers.

Connelly and Lassner have also signed overall deals with Warner Bros. Unscripted Television to develop, create, and produce further unscripted projects for the studio ahead of the premiere.

Hudson’s show will also have an executive producer. Lisa Kasteler Calio, Graehme Morphy, Walter Williams III, and co-executive producer Shani Black are executive producers alongside Connelly, Lassner, and Palent.

Darnell met Hudson as a competitor on “American Idol,” the show that catapulted her to fame. Darnell was the network’s head of reality programming at the time and was in charge of the network’s singing competition show.

Darnell explained why he believed Hudson would make a fantastic talk show host in a recent interview with Variety. Darnell said, “I knew who she was, and she’s still a Chicago native who is down to earth, real, easygoing, and hilarious as heck.” “I knew we could make a talk show out of it.”

The CEO praised the superstar’s hosting abilities as well. “I have to tell you, she was fantastic,” Darnell remarked of the pilot. “It had been a long time since I’d seen anything like that.”

Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution distributes “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” created by Warner Bros. Unscripted Television in collaboration with Telepictures.

Fox Television Stations, Hearst Television, Sinclair Broadcast Group, TEGNA, Nexstar Media Group, Scripps Media Group, Gray Media Group, and others will carry the series.
