Cleaner Air for a Cleaner Future: Inside the Oxidizer Solutions of Oxidizers Inc.

Most people have no idea what oxidizers are or what they do, but they depend on them all the same. The majority of people may never give the air quality in their homes, schools, and offices a second thought, but air is the single most important factor determining how comfortable and healthy a space is.

A space with good air quality feels clean and inviting, while a space with bad air quality feels stale and unsafe. The bottom line is that if people value clean air, then they value oxidizers.

“If you pull back the curtain at any manufacturing company, you are sure to find thermal and catalytic oxidizers chugging away,” says Keith Lambert, president of Oxidizers, Inc. “They get rid of all kinds of nasty contaminants like formaldehyde, MEK, and toluene. Trust me; you do not want chemicals like those floating around in the air you breathe. Without these oxidizers, manufacturing would grind to a halt.”

What are oxidizers, and why do they matter?

In simple terms, an oxidizer uses an oxidizing agent to convert a material from one form into another. People can see a common oxidizing agent in action by pouring a little chlorine bleach — also known as sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) — into the washing machine. When bleach oxidizes a stain, the resulting energy breaks the bonds between the molecules. They no longer absorb light and appear to vanish.

An oxidizer does not need an external source of electricity or fuel. It acts as its own power source by converting material into usable energy through a chemical reaction.

Oxidizers are vital to hundreds of industries. They remove pollution, moisture, and odors created by oil and gas refineries, mining operations, chemical manufacturers, pulp and paper mills, and food processing plants. In these industries, oxidizers use active oxygen to consume waste and convert it into harmless gases.

“Oxidizers are all around you,” Lambert explains. “For example, we installed an oxidizer system for a customer who is building new electric vehicles. This client needed an oxidizer on their plastic paint line where they sprayed parts like rear-view mirrors, bumpers, and trim. The company gave us precise information regarding how much air they needed to evacuate from their booth, the temperature of their booth, and the exact volatile organic compounds in the paint they use. With that information in hand, we had what we needed to design specific equipment for their facility.”

The importance of keeping oxidizers in compliance

Oxidizers require maintenance plans with regular inspections by qualified professionals. Though the systems are designed to have 20 to 30-year life spans, changes in the manufacturing process and routine maintenance can alter their life expectancies.

“Keeping good records and information regarding the equipment and the process is key,” says Lambert. “We’ve found one of the biggest problems with equipment is the rule of inheritance. When equipment is in place and serviced for years, all too often, the data associated with a system gets lost as employees come and go.”

With this in mind, Oxidizers, Inc. introduces companies to a vital gatekeeper called Incheq. This platform allows them to maintain training records, maintenance schedules, service reports, PM schedules, and industry 4.0 data in the cloud. As soon as the information is cataloged on the platform, it is tied to the equipment forever.

New equipment is not always better equipment

Oxidizers, Inc. ensures its solutions comply with environmental regulations, the National Fire Protection Association, and OSHA to meet safety and emissions standards. Sometimes, this means installing new oxidizers, but many times it means repairing existing equipment to keep it in compliance.

Oxidizers, Inc is known for providing cost-effective solutions for its customers. “When my partner and I started Oxidizers, we built the business to fill a void,” recalls Lambert. “The majority of this market is driven by new equipment. Unfortunately, maintenance and repair are all too often an afterthought. Our business is not about the bottom line — it’s about effective solutions, sustainable impact, and truly listening to our customer’s needs.”

The Oxidizer, Inc. team designs, installs, and maintains systems for small startups and mega manufacturers. Across the United States, their systems clean billions of cubic feet of air annually. A long list of satisfied customers stands behind the company’s work, and while thousands have never heard of Oxidizers, Inc., they all breathe easier due to the work that the company does every day.

“When customers tell me they can sleep better at night knowing we are their partner, it is the greatest measure of success,” Lambert comments. “They know we are here 24 hours a day and seven days a week to keep them compliant. We put the customers’ needs first and give our all because we know what we do matters. At Oxidizers Inc., we’re in the ‘Trillion-Air club,’ meaning trillions of cubic feet of clean air are in our care each year.”

Artificial intelligence (AI) is quickly becoming the new buzzword in the rapidly evolving world of technology. With the likes of ChatGPT, Bing Chat, and Google’s upcoming Bard, it seems like everyone is eager to jump on the AI bandwagon. But the question remains: Is it all just hype, or is there real value to be gained from these developments? According to Ravi Vadrevu, a serial entrepreneur in AI and founder of Kalender AI, the answer is a resounding yes.

“AI is revolutionizing customer service and marketing in various organizations,” Ravi points out. “It has become a game-changer, allowing companies to provide personalized experiences that cater to each customer’s unique needs and preferences. With the increasing use of AI in businesses, customers are enjoying more personalized experiences, faster responses, and improved overall satisfaction.”

Integration of chatbots into the customer experience is one area Ravi notes has vastly increased efficiency in service delivery. Chatbots can respond instantly to customer inquiries, eliminating the need for long wait times on the phone or through email. AI-powered chatbots are also available 24/7, making them a valuable tool for businesses that want to provide their customers with continuous support.

Ravi explains that AI-powered personalization is also becoming increasingly popular, allowing businesses to tailor customer interactions based on their unique preferences and behaviors. For instance, AI algorithms can analyze a customer’s purchase history, browsing behavior, and demographic data to provide personalized recommendations and promotions. This approach helps businesses better understand their customers’ needs and interests, resulting in higher engagement and conversion rates.

AI is also being used to optimize the customer journey. AI-powered tools can analyze customer data to identify areas for improvement in the customer journey, from initial engagement to post-purchase follow-up. By identifying bottlenecks and areas for improvement, businesses can better streamline their customer experience and improve customer satisfaction.

As the AI space develops, AI is also being used to enhance the customer experience in many industries through predictive analytics. Predictive analytics can help businesses anticipate customer needs and preferences, enabling them to deliver a more personalized experience. For instance, predictive analytics can help businesses to identify which products or services customers are most likely to purchase, allowing them to create targeted marketing campaigns and promotions.

Kalendar AI, Ravi’s company, is a prime example of the benefits of AI in the customer experience. Their platform uses AI to automate scheduling, eliminating the back-and-forth communication often required to set up a meeting. “We’re helping businesses save time and money by automating one of the most tedious parts of their day-to-day operations,” says Ravi.

As an early adopter and one of the first few people to get access to GPT3 when it was released, Ravi is convinced AI is a game-changer for the customer experience. From chatbots to personalization, optimization, and predictive analytics, Ravi reiterates that companies that embrace AI are better positioned to compete in today’s digital landscape and meet their customers’ evolving expectations.

“The impact of AI on the world will be 10-20X the impact of what social media has done in the last 15 years, except it’s going to happen in the next 5 years. We will soon reach a place where the deployment of ideas will become so easy that everyone will feel like a superhuman.” By leveraging the power of AI, businesses can create more engaging, efficient, and personalized experiences for their customers, driving growth and success in the digital age.

Cracking the Code: Unveiling the Story of White Knight Labs

Cybersecurity should be among the chief concerns of any business leader today. A coordinated cyberattack could be devastating, with consequences up to losing the business entirely.

Thankfully, more and more cybersecurity providers are entering the fray, helping businesses protect their valuable data and assets. But how does one know if the cybersecurity firm they partner with is right for them?

In the cybersecurity field, it is important to stay up-to-date, as new cyber threats arise daily. The technology wrongdoers use for cyberattacks is constantly evolving and improving, but thankfully, so is the technology used for cybersecurity to defend against attacks. To stay up to date with these new threats, businesses must engage with the cybersecurity community in a meaningful way.

A small but mighty cybersecurity firm

One burgeoning voice in the cybersecurity community is the small cybersecurity consulting firm White Knight Labs. The smaller size of White Knight Labs’s experienced team allows them to work intimately with their clients to develop personalized, risk-based approaches to improve the security of their business.

White Knight Labs’ founders Greg Hatcher and John Stiegrwalt have both spent years in the “trenches,” working for various boutique cybersecurity consulting firms. After transitioning out of the Army Special Forces, where he was a Green Beret, Hatcher pivoted into cybersecurity, where he held various roles including developer, penetration tester, and CISA red team leader. Stiegrwalt got his start in development, blue teaming, and system administration before moving into penetration testing and red teaming.

Hatcher and Stiegrwalt’s purpose with White Knight Labs is to provide deep technical expertise to their clients at a reasonable price. “We believe that people should be able to afford cybersecurity that will keep their information and data safe and secure,” says Hatcher. “White Knight Labs is a small band of engineers, having broken away from the corporate structure with the mission of serving our clients with excellence at a great value.”

It isn’t just White Knight Labs’s founders that have extensive and impressive experience, though. Everyone on the team comes from an illustrious cybersecurity background.

“Our engineers come from various backgrounds, including NSA, DHS, and SOF veterans,” Hatcher asserts. “Our deep technical expertise is part of what sets us apart from our competitors. We are solely focused on hiring the best and brightest to accomplish our mission: helping our customers improve the security of their network.”

White Knight Labs offers a wide range of services, including cloud security reviews, Active Directory audits, internal and external penetration testing, red teaming, and more. Clients in various sectors — from retail to financial services and even government entities — have come to White Knight Labs largely due to their ability to deliver big-firm service at a small-firm price.

One service for which White Knight Labs has become particularly known is its advanced security assessments. “White Knight Labs has been recognized as a leading adversarial emulation company,” says Hatcher. “Thanks to our extensive background as elite hackers, our team of security professionals can help reveal vulnerabilities in various technologies. This enables us to offer comprehensive security assessments and design customized solutions based on our clients’ unique security needs.”

Meeting clients’ cybersecurity needs

The team at White Knight Labs finds that some of the more common issues and vulnerabilities their clients encounter are simpler, such as password policy and multi-factor authentication (MFA) use. Passwords and MFA are the first and second line of defense for most data access, and in some cases, the only barriers from someone else accessing data. However, even in cases where there are additional security measures and layers of encryption, making the first levels of security harder to crack discourages bad actors from making further attempts.

When there is a need for a more in-depth cybersecurity solution, White Knight Labs is there to help its clients with a customized solution based on their unique needs. “In our initial meeting, we strive to understand where our clients are on their cybersecurity journey,” explains Hatcher. “Many of the more in-depth solutions don’t make sense for clients who aren’t doing the basics yet.”

Part of White Knight Labs’s commitment to providing excellent service to clients at a reasonable price is that they do not overpitch clients on services they do not need. “We need to understand the client’s network and capabilities before we begin pitching products and services,” says Hatcher. “The goal isn’t just to hack into the client’s network — we want to be the client’s trusted security advisor. We are in it for the long haul.”

The team at White Knight Labs believes that the developments they are making in the cybersecurity industry can benefit far more people than just themselves and their clients. “Our engineers are also teachers and developers,” Hatcher asserts. “We teach at various conferences throughout the United States and create tools to give back to the InfoSec community.”

Indeed, it is people like Hatcher and Stiegrwalt who are paving the way for a future digital landscape that is much safer and more secure for all.

Why Quantropi is the Cybersecurity Answer for the Future

Image commercially licensed from Unsplash

A strong password, the experts tell us, is at least 12 characters long. It should include uppercase and lowercase letters, as well as numbers and special symbols, and avoids memorable keyboard paths, such as “1Q2W3E.” It also has no relation to your personal information, such as your name, phone number, or street address. Use passwords that follow these guidelines and you will be secure, at least until Y2Q arrives.

What is Y2Q? It is the day when quantum computing gives hackers the power to crack any password — and that day is fast approaching.

“Quantum computers are gaining ground and will soon pose an existential threat to all standard encryption methods,” warns Michael Redding, CTO of Quantropi, an award-winning cybersecurity company that provides quantum-secure cryptographic solutions. “Unlike the Y2K ‘millennium bug,’ there is no timetable or due date for Y2Q. All we know is it is coming much faster than anyone predicted. That’s why bad actors around the world are already stealing and storing secrets, just waiting for the quantum computing capacity to decrypt them. It is why governments are mandating action and consulting providers are vying for positions. Like Y2K, Y2Q will affect every organization on the planet, meaning systematic preparation is urgent and non-optional.”

Founded in Ottawa in 2018, Quantropi provides technology that empowers users to achieve unconditional security that is more cost-effective, scalable, and efficient than any other product on the market. It is on track to become the standard for quantum-secure data communications, encrypting data in transit and at rest without requiring the processing power of a quantum computer.

Cybersecurity that is ready for Y2Q

To be secure in the post-Y2Q era, the classic asymmetric and symmetric algorithms used in cryptographic solutions must be replaced with “post-quantum” algorithms impervious to quantum — as well as classical — cyberattacks. Quantum-based attacks first break the current “classic” asymmetric encryption algorithms and weaken symmetric algorithms. Additionally, existing high-performance computers can attack weak cryptographic keys. To ensure that data remains secure, poor-quality cryptographic keys based on weak algorithmic random number generators must be replaced by cryptographic keys derived from hardware-based Quantum Random Number Generators.

“Quantropi’s ground-breaking intellectual property is based in quantum mechanics to provide quantum-secure capabilities for strong random numbers (quantum entropy) as well as quantum-secure symmetric and asymmetric encryption,” explains Michael. “This allows organizations to harden and secure their data, networks, and applications, and can provide quantum-secure cloud and SaaS security, digital quantum key distribution, and quantum-safe digital signing and certificates — PKI replacement.”

Quantropi’s QiSpace™ provides TrUE protection

In order to provide users with secure access to data, IP networks depend on the cryptographic integrity of the Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol embedded in all modern operating systems, browsers, and application software. For the TLS protocol to be effective, it must provide “TrUE” protection, which is an acronym Quantropi developed to represent the three primary cryptographic capabilities: Trust, Uncertainty, and Entropy.

Quantropi’s QiSpace™ is a hybrid quantum SaaS platform developed by Quantropi that provides enterprises, product managers, and application developers with a Quantum-secure product suite of all three “TrUE” cryptographic capabilities. It is designed to protect data, networks, and systems against both current and post-Y2Q threats, providing TLS, machine identity, boot loading, and application data security.

QiSpace™ is the only platform in existence that addresses all three quantum security prerequisites. Its MASQ™ component provides quantum-secure asymmetric encryption — also known as post-quantum cryptography (PQC) — while its QEEP™ component provides quantum-secure symmetric encryption that is as much as 18 times faster than AES-256. The final QiSpace™ component, which is known as SEQUR™, provides quantum random number generation and quantum-secure distribution (Digital QKD) to enable the full security potential of current cryptographic algorithms.

“Quantropi’s QiSpace™ can be leveraged by organizations as a bridge to a TrUE quantum-secure future,” says Michael. “It’s a platform that offers a seamless and cost-effective integration of quantum-secure cryptographic and communications capabilities, ensuring that devices and machines are guaranteed to start, run, upgrade, and communicate quantum-securely.”

Quantropi’s TrUE quantum-secure solutions have been validated by the scientific community in over 20 published papers and have been used effectively by industry partners and customers including Deutsche Telekom, ST Micro, Microsystems, Calian, Torus Communications, Versa-Networks, DLS Technologies, and Wedge Networks. In addition, its innovative technology solutions are protected by nine patents.

Now is the time to prepare for Y2Q

Experts disagree on the timing for Y2Q. Some say it could be within two years, while others have set the date as 2030. However, all agree that now is the time to begin preparing for a new era of cybersecurity.

“Quantropi’s solutions are commercially available today, are quickly and easily deployable on today’s Internet, fast, lightweight, and resource-efficient,” Michael says. “By beginning the transition towards quantum security today, public and private organizations can minimize the monetary and reputational risks associated with rampant data and security breaches.”

New IGSA Chairman Earle G. Hall Sees A.I. Research In the Gaming Industry’s Future

Earle Hall, President and CEO of AXES.ai, was recently named Chairman of the International Gaming Standards Association (IGSA).

Earle G. Hall has seen it all in the gambling industry. Having spent years walking casino floors, Hall has witnessed the highs and lows of gaming, from people having the time of their lives to those who let their retirement savings dwindle and struggled in the aftermath. The latter made him realize he wanted to be part of the solution to problem gambling, and he saw something compelling in the challenge of fixing the problem without sacrificing casino revenue in the process. Rather, he says, the right solutions can benefit the industry as a whole, as well as the individuals who inhabit it.

As president and CEO of fintech company AXES.ai, an IoT-based cloud information management platform that licenses actionable data and applications, Hall has long wanted to work with a research university to fix some of the industry’s biggest issues. His product, which uses artificial intelligence in real time to assist gaming programs, could enhance players’ experiences, but only to a certain extent, and it couldn’t fix the problems of money laundering and gambling addiction.

“Since the inception of the company, our dream was to find a university that was A.I. focused, gaming-focused, and really took to heart what we believed (in) – and what we believe (in) is the day there is no money laundering,” Hall told No Line Podcast. “The day that there’s no problem gamblers, the revenues in the casinos will go up. Why? Because they will be able to target [the clients] faster, better, and more precisely, the clients so that they play more, have more fun and have more enjoyment.”

Hall realized that dream through the University of Nevada, Las Vegas’ International Gaming Institute, donating $150,000 towards accelerating artificial intelligence research into responsible gaming. AXES will also provide UNLV access to the company’s 57 billion lines of data for quantitative testing and preemptively detect issues. Within a confidential setting, AXES removes every piece of data that could be of prejudice to customers. AXES hopes such data can help clients generate more revenue in a safer environment.

AXES first got involved with the university via an invitation to attend UNLV’s annual Gaming Regulation International Policy Summit (GRIPS), a week-long immersion seminar focused on current gaming regulatory policy, methodology, & leadership. Hall was “blown away” by UNLV’s advanced research in problem gambling, quantitative data, and artificial intelligence.

He recalls immediately telling UNLV’s research department how he could contribute to their work. “I have to thank [Interim Executive Director for the UNLV International Center for Gaming Regulation] Craig Ferreira and [Distinguished Fellow in Responsible Gaming] Alan Feldman and everybody else that showed up and said [what was needed]. It’s been ‘yes, yes, yes’ all the way,” he says.

UNLV has worked with other companies like Sightline Payments and Global Payment Gaming Solutions to analyze the gaming industry’s transition towards cashless wager — a collaboration that Hall calls “groundbreaking.” He believes having data from both Sightline and AXES will be beneficial in not only tracking the money going in and out, but the speed of the money going in, if they’re changing the game, and 18 other metrics that AXES tracks quantitatively.

“The part that [AXES] would like to contribute to is the quantitative behavioral analysis of the client while they’re playing the machine,” Hall shares. “Our dream is to eradicate addiction. What we plan to add is [to] look at how the players’ behavior is evolving.”

Hall says his company has received positive feedback from its shareholders and its community regarding its new partnership with the university. He hopes this will lead to more companies not only becoming involved in donations, but also providing data to UNLV’s International Gaming Institute, particularly its A.I. program.

“AXES is not a person. It’s not a company. It’s a culture and a collectivity of human beings that really deeply cares. They’re just the most special people that I’ve ever worked with [in] my entire career.”

“The research that UNLV is doing now is that pivotal moment,” says Hall. “And everybody that gets involved is going to have a place of pride for years to come. Knowing that we all gave that extra push to eradicate gambling, and to empower gaming.”

Hall plans to extend those goals to his term as IGSA chair as well. “When we eradicate problem gambling, we can get rid of the finite bad,” he says, “and we can focus on the infinite good.”

Keeping End Users in the Know: Why Companies Should Practice Ethical Scraping

Nearly a decade ago, Neil Emeigh — the CEO and founder of Rayobyte — decided to enter the data scraping space. It was not long after this that he became frustrated with the low quality of available proxies and made it his mission to offer a better process. In time, his basement-based one-man proxy operation became the largest proxy provider in the United States.

“We live in a world where ethical data acquisition and usage are seen as virtually impossible to reconcile,” says Neil. “I am here to attest to the fact that they can pair extremely well. Any company can practice ethical scraping to ensure their data-collection process is entirely transparent and above board.”

What is ethical scraping?

Sectors such as digital marketing and data science require loads of information, and the most effective way for them to gather these hordes of data is through a process called web scraping. When companies and researchers collect the required data manually, it requires a massive amount of time and resources, but today’s web-scraping tools enable them to extract relevant information from the internet automatically.

That is web scraping in a nutshell, but the waters get murkier when people attempt to define the ethics of the practice. Corporations and researchers are in desperate need of data, and it is readily available. However, just because the information is ripe for the picking does not mean companies can acquire it easily.

The internet is a goldmine of public data, but web-scraping detection software frequently steps in to block companies and researchers that extract copious amounts of information through a single IP address. To avoid this, companies mask their online identities by channeling data through intermediary devices called residential proxies. Each time companies and researchers connect through a proxy, their IP address changes, and this makes it far more difficult for sites to block them.

While web scraping itself is entirely legal, the process of harvesting the information involves a number of ethical snares. The most significant issues arise as companies and researchers set about acquiring residential proxies.

Ethically obtained residential proxies

Neil founded his company around the idea that providing proxies ethically can benefit everyone involved. “We incentivize users to participate as residential proxies by offering cash bonuses for helping us access the internet’s stores of data,” he explains. “In this way, the people who acquire information benefit, and so do the people enabling them to obtain that information. It’s a win-win.”

In addition to compensating users for the use of IP addresses, Rayobyte’s software is careful to take the concerns of proxies into consideration. It guarantees devices are only used as proxies if they are already connected to Wi-Fi, not currently in use, and are either charging or up to at least 50% power. Furthermore, Rayobyte gives full control to consumers by allowing anyone being used as a proxy to opt-out at any time.

Neil is not content with a mere show of ethics. He warns against the majority of proxy providers who hide behind terms of service too long to read or vague promises of social accountability. “We’re not satisfied with half-hearted attempts. We have set the industry standard and hope others will join us.”

Protecting residential proxies by vetting the companies that use them

The commitment to ethics does not end after obtaining residential proxies. “At Rayobyte, we protect the people who trust us with their IP addresses,” Neil asserts. “With this in mind, we do not allow companies to purchase IPs outright, and we vet any company using our proxies.”

Before using residential proxies through Rayobyte, customers must first demo their products and undergo a rigorous vetting process to prove they are indeed a legitimate business. In addition to vetting, Rayobyte has three safeguards in place: automated monitoring, manual spot checks, and preventative measures.

“We define specific use cases in which users can access our proxies, and our proprietary monitoring system will shut down any use case that does not adhere to those standards,” says Niel. “We’ve trained this automated system over many years and over hundreds of thousands of proxies. Our software is designed to detect risky behavior and stop it before it starts.”

In addition to the AI’s line of defense, Rayobyte fields a 24/7 technical team to perform manual spot checks. The software also employs several preventative measures such as restricting customers’ accounts to the domains they publicly say they will use.

The need for data is growing, and so is the demand for efficient web scraping software. This process has the potential to benefit corporations and private consumers alike when companies carry it out in a respectful and ethical manner.

“All the major proxy providers employ limits to ensure their scraping is legal,” Neil concludes. “What sets Rayobyte apart is our commitment to residential proxies that are obtained ethically and used ethically through the entire process.”

Building Greener Cities

Ask any environmentalist, and they will tell you that global warming is one of the most pressing issues our society faces today. The greenhouse gas emissions that cause this environmental destruction, although, are connected to essential human actions, such as manufacturing, transportation, and construction.

At this point, it would be impossible for society to eliminate these sources of greenhouse gas emissions completely. But we can still find alternatives that help reduce some of the effects of these sources.

“When people look at greenhouse gas emissions in major cities, they often point to more outwardly-visible producers — such as vehicle traffic and factories — as the main culprits,” explains Tim Sperry, CEO of climate tech company Carbon Limit. “However, there is one contributor to greenhouse gas emissions that is often overlooked, yet has one of the most significant impacts on global warming than any other single factor: concrete.”

The Environmental Catastrophe Caused by Concrete

Understandably, concrete is a significant contributor to global warming because it is the culmination of a series of processes that each cause substantial greenhouse gas emissions. First, the cement is produced in large quantities by a factory, creating considerable amounts of exhaust. Then, it is transported via vehicles that burn fossil fuels, and mixed and dispensed by heavy machinery that also consumes fossil fuels. “Given the amount of concrete produced and used annually, this is a factor that must be taken into account when trying to find ways to combat global warming,” Sperry asserts.

Yet, this is only one of concrete’s environmentally destructive properties. Concrete is not biodegradable and is known to last in landfills for as long as 10,000 years. Still, few alternatives to concrete have the same properties of durability and strength, while also being relatively inexpensive. For too long, the construction industry has sacrificed environmental consciousness because there was nothing else they could use.

Some alternative solutions, such as recycled concrete aggregate (RCA), have long been proposed and utilized, but they are hardly a one-for-one replacement for traditional concrete. While these options are an improvement over conventional concrete for the environment, they lack the durability necessary to be a legitimate building solution. However, one innovator at the forefront of the field is developing a viable cement alternative via the process of decarbonization in order to mitigate the environmental impact of concrete.

Finding an Effective Concrete Alternative

Decarbonization is a process by which the carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere is captured and, therefore, significantly reduced. Trees and other natural vegetation have a significant role in sequestering carbon dioxide and countering some of the impacts of greenhouse gas emissions, but emissions resulting from human activity have reached such a substantial level that natural means of sequestration are no longer enough. Now, it is up to technological innovators to discover and develop an effective solution.

Carbon Limit is a climate tech company that has developed a new cement alternative with the same qualities of reliability and stability as traditional cement-based concrete, but has significantly less environmental impact. Carbon Limit’s innovative technology acts as a sponge for CO2 in the atmosphere, absorbing it from the air and storing it in a solid form in the cement, preventing it from causing environmental destruction.

Although some of the damages already caused by global warming are irreversible, technologies like Carbon Limit are working to mitigate some of the effects and, more importantly, prevent them from worsening. Every day, more green space in cities is being lost to urban development, and more trees that could sequester carbon dioxide are being chopped down and replaced with cement that doesn’t. With Carbon Limit, cities can still grow and expand while minimizing the environmental impact caused by urban development.
Large areas of natural vegetation, like jungles, can sequester large amounts of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. With its concrete technology that can absorb and store CO2 from the air around it, Carbon Limit is giving a new definition to the idea of an urban concrete jungle. “By investing in this new climate tech, cities can ensure they are ahead of the pack in protecting and preserving their own ecosystem for generations to come,” Sperry says.

Doctor Geva’s Medical Paradigm

Dr. Yacov Geva is on a mission to transform the practice of medicine. Dr. Geva is the President/CEO of G Medical Innovations Holdings Ltd. His company manufactures and distributes medical self-testing devices and telehealth remote patient monitoring systems for patients, doctors and medical providers. The company launched an IPO on June 28, 2021 (NASDAQ: GMVD).

Dr. Geva’s paradigm is his medical self-testing device, “Prizma.” The Prizma is a small testing device cleverly designed to serve a dual function as a cell phone case. Since the testing apparatus integrated into the case requires an interface with a patient’s cell phone to store and share data, the case configuration is an engineering marvel. But the phone doesn’t have to be in the case for the Prizma to perform tests since they communicate via Bluetooth.

The Prizma, in its current configuration, takes five key cardio-related measurements:

  • ECG
  • Heart Rate
  • Body Temperature
  • Blood Oxygenation
  • Stress Indicators

The data is then made immediately available to the patient’s physician, who can compare it to previous readings and contact the patient directly if warranted.

The Prisma software also integrates body weight, blood pressure and blood glucose data with the above five cardio-related measurements. Currently, the patient has to obtain these three additional values through some other means and then enter them manually into the Prizma system.

The Prizma, in its current configuration, is a special tool for congestive heart failure patients. A physician can get a quick real-time snapshot of their patient’s condition, especially when integrated with body weight, blood pressure and glucose. But Prizma’s applications in the medical marketplace go well beyond congestive heart failure patients. Collecting and tracking these data points is valuable for anyone concerned about cardiovascular health.

G Medical Innovations is about to double down on its cutting-edge testing device with the launch of Prizma 2.0, slated for release in mid-2023. The upgraded Prizma will add to their current testing capabilities, including:

  • Blood Pressure
  • Blood Glucose
  • Blood Lipids
  • Cholesterol
  • Uric Acid

The upgraded Prizma will incorporate a feature that captures a drop of the patient’s blood. Once you have access to a patient’s blood, you can obtain enormous information about that person’s current health condition. Professional medical testing labs that test blood serum samples offer over 2,000 tests. So, with the upgraded Prizma, the sky is the limit.

The medical community has responded enthusiastically to the Prizma. It creates both medical and economic efficiencies. Health insurance providers are also on board, with over 150 companies paying patient claims for the Prizma.

G Medical Innovations also offers a line of medical home testing kits. These testing kits allow a person to test themselves in the comfort and privacy of their homes, rather than traveling down to the hospital or to a testing lab and sitting in a waiting room with a group of people, waiting to be called and tested.

The company’s kits include the obvious viral tests, such as HPV, Covid19 and monkeypox. They also have tests for an assortment of other important health measurements. For example, they have tests for food sensitivities and allergies, a kit for testosterone levels and another test for mother’s milk. You can also test for sexually transmitted diseases, thyroid function, and HbA1C (hemoglobin). They have a list of additional tests in the pipeline.

Their operational model is simple and affordable. The kits are available online and in select stores and pharmacies. The company provides a prepaid mailer with the kit. Once the test is concluded, it is FedExed to their lab in California. Within 24 hours after receiving the mailer, the company emails the results to the patient. Traditional lab tests, by contrast, typically take two weeks for results and can cost as much as $1000. G Medical’s kits start at $50.

G Medical is also positioned to serve more than 50 million Americans without health insurance. These people can buy the device and then connect with the company’s call center for a monthly fee. So, it’s almost like having a doctor in their pocket and a mini-lab, which should reduce the number of unnecessary visits to emergency rooms.

In the post-pandemic social and economic climate, G Medical Innovations appears well-positioned to benefit from the current trend toward telemedicine and do-it-yourself testing. Moreover, with patent protection on their Prizma, they appear to be poised to make a significant run.
