International pop icon Britney Spears released an Instagram post directly aiming at her family. The singer and dancer has long been in a legal battle against her father, Jamie Spears, to suspend the controversial conservatorship that granted him control over her finances and personal decisions. The conservatorship has lasted for over 13 years until such legal actions were filed by Spears.
On Monday, the pop star wrote in a lengthy caption for her recent Instagram post of a vintage typewriter and three pink roses. The caption reads:
“Don’t you find it weird when you jump through hoops to organize trips or set up lunch dates with people you love only to know they’ll bail on you or leave after 10 minutes??? It’s humiliating, and it’s like every person I’ve ever opened to immediately says they’ll be gone on a trip for two weeks after…OK I get it… they’re only available to me when it’s convenient for them…well I’m no longer available to any of them now,” the 39-year-old Spears wrote.
“I don’t mind being alone, and actually I’m tired of being this understanding Mother Teresa…if you’re rude to me, then I’m done… peace out!!!” the singer and dancer continued.
The pop star ended the caption with a direct statement for her family without pointing out any specific names. “This message is to my family… for hurting me deeper than you’ll ever know!!! I know the conservatorship is about to be over, but still I want justice!!! I’m only 5’4″, and I’ve played the bigger person my entire life… do you know how hard that is???”
The conservatorship issue has created quite the buzz on social media. Spears has previously expressed her gratitude for digital campaigners leading and fueling the #FreeBritney movement. The pop star has said in her tweets that the support of the public continually pushes her to fight to free herself from her father’s control and give her life a new direction.
The recent Instagram post slamming her family was not the first time Spears let off steam on her social media platforms and in-person encounters. Formerly, she publicly criticized her family, comparing her father to a sex trafficker during her court appearance on June 23. In addition, she stated that her family did not do anything to help her escape the abusive legal arrangements despite witnessing her toxic relationship with her father.
In addition, Spears wrote in a heartbreaking Instagram post in July, “There’s nothing worse than when the people closest to you, who never showed up for you, post things about your situation, whatever it may be and speak truthfully for support. How dare the people you love the most say anything at all… did they even lift me up at the time? How dare you make it public that you care… did you put your hand out when I was drowning??? Again… No…”
Spears is set to face another court hearing for the conservatorship case on November 12. The results will likely put an end to the lengthy legal battle, as expressed by her lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, who previously said he has high hopes for a direct resolution without any mental evaluation needed further.
