Ask Schellie: The Answer to Burnout among High-Achievers

Burnout and depression has always been a common thing with high achievers, so much so that it is sometimes taken for granted and not given the proper attention it requires. This phenomenon is particularly heightened in a world still reeling from a pandemic that seems to have no end in sight. However, a company has taken it upon itself to proffer solutions to this silent menace.

Ask Schellie Consulting, LLC has designed training and interventions that are unique to the often unaddressed injury caused by the pandemic and social mores of this world. Additionally, the training includes consideration of the overall psychosocial stressors that cause high achievers to internally hemorrhage without having any awareness of the decline. One of the unique characteristics of the company’s training is the focus placed on the power of the subconscious and how it can be tapped into to produce unspeakable results.

What makes the Ask Schellie approach so original is the practical nature of its interventions and the competitive cost. But there is a more personal side to Ask Schellie that makes the training different from other competitors. According to Schellie Fanfan, founder of the company, “I personally experienced and won an almost three year battle against depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, workplace toxicity and imposter syndrome. Through vulnerability with strong mentors and counselors, I was able to go from a highly functional successful woman to a highly functional, healed and whole successful woman WITH the capacity to be present in a healthy way in the multiple roles I hold as a change agent. Not only do I teach it, I LIVED IT. I understand the power of practical steps to wellness with the intentional enhancement of emotional intelligence.”

Schellie Fanfan is a Haitian American female, born in Manhattan and raised in Queens Village, New York. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida in addition to two Master’s degrees from Florida State University in Mental Health Counseling and Human Services and Systems. Schellie is the founder and sole owner of Ask Schellie Consulting, LLC where she leads a team of experts who consult with corporations, individuals, other business entities, ministries and organizations to maximize performance and productivity.

Ms. Fanfan is a highly esteemed Emotional Intelligence Expert and Ordained Minister that is determined to change the world one life at a time. She notes that her life’s purpose is to motivate and encourage others to experience Total Life Prosperity by applying practical wellness principles that cause people to Live In Their Smiles. Ms. Fanfan does this via individual therapy, empowerment speaking and corporate training. She is committed to impacting her community by actively serving as: Board Chairwoman for the House of Hope Orlando, Parliamentarian for the Greater Haitian American Chamber of Commerce, immediate Past Florida State Parliamentarian for the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Board Member for the CEO CHICKS Institute for aspiring teen entrepreneurs, and as an Advocate against Human Sex Trafficking. Her guiding philosophy is that there are ABSOLUTELY NO obstacles that one cannot overcome due to God’s desire to bless and empower his creation beyond all imagination.

Speaking on what motivated her to start her brand, Ms. Fanfan says, “I decided to build my own brand in the middle of a performance appraisal I was receiving for a Mental Health Center I was directing for the severe and persistently mentally ill. It was a man that had seen me briefly a few times out of the year that had control over my destiny with the company. I knew in that moment after five years of others signing my check, that it was time for me to CALL OUT WELL. I was having dreams of leading teams, writing books and teaching the secret sauce to prosperous living. Even when I tried to suppress it, PURPOSE CHASED ME. Without PROVISION, I made the DECISION to step out to do all I was created, equipped and qualified to do. And once the decision was made, PROVISION came in abundance. As a result of my own personal mental health challenges, I knew I had a story, a message and a prescription for others to follow.”

On where she sees herself in the next five years, the proud mother of two children, Etana (20 years of age) and Philippe (18 years of age), has this to say, ” Five years from now, I see my daughter as the Chief Operating Officer managing teams across the United States and abroad to include London and Paris. These teams will represent the best of the best as it relates to emotional intelligence. I will continue to write books and training curricula in multiple languages while traveling the globe teaching how to tap into the subconscious in ways that manifest and influence significant desirable outcomes in the earth.”
